It may not be unified enough to pose a threat to the military junta in control, but it is obviously a threat to the morale of the soldiers, some of whom have already gotten out: "conscripts are deserting," reports the Economist, November 18th issue, p. 33.   

Its editors further urge the West to support the opposition, most of whom are in exile.
