It's a real problem to decarbonize cement. But as the Economist reports, English firms tackling the making of cement, have found using recycled cement from a demolished cement structure is suitable for resurrecting a new building. That is, taking the cement powder from a torn-down cement structure makes its replacement! Comments the editors, "the green benefits of a circular economy." (April 29 issue, p. 66).
