To make way for democracy, parents should engage in conversations with their children from early stages of development.

The key is to keep talking with them.  Let them learn to make noises, that turn into vowels and consonants and finally words; sentences.

Emerge from looks to talks, letting them try expressing what they are feeling.  Talk with them even before they can successfully manage to utter words.

Democracy thrives on talking with one another.  Get away from fights and conflict to expressing what you feel!  Don't just give them the bottle, tell them what you're doing.  You are sharing with them the gift of talk and saying what you feel and think.  They will faster pick up on the words' meaning.  Follow the talking between them and you with actions appropriate.

Establishing a society of humans around the table, the public square takes time and effort; well worth it, you'll note soon enough.  And keep talking with them!

My opinion.
